Smoky Mountain Homecoming Art Gallery Festival Weekend

Area visitors have a unique chance to experience an event that showcases the culture and heritage of Appalachia. Robert Tino's annual Smoky Mountain Homecoming event runs Friday through Sunday, on the first weekend of October. Guests are given a chance to see, hear, and taste some of the things that give this region of the country its own special character.

Since 1992, the Homecoming has become a seasonal fall tradition as thousands of visitors wander Sunset View Farm in Sevierville, Tennessee home of noted local artist Robert Tino and his gallery. Activities include live bluegrass and gospel music on the mainstage and storytellers and musicians on the storytelling stage. Local arts and crafts traditions come to life including blacksmithing, distilling, honey making and bee keeping, basket weaving, soap and broom making, sheep shearing, and more.

Plenty of fun kid activities occur all weekend, like mule wagon rides, pottery making, paint-your-own pumpkin patch, vintage games, and the like. If you're hungry, you can dig in to some local foods like BBQ or pork chops. Country favorites like funnel cakes, kettle corn, lemonade and other old-fashioned treats will be available as well. Antiques, crafts, and all forms of Robert Tino's artwork will be on sale throughout the weekend. Truly, it's a taste of local history remembered here each year.
