As we head into the final week leading up to Halloween, we thought we'd pass along some ideas for celebrating the holidays in the Smokies and making sure that you have a spook-tacular time during your visit.
One good place to start is Gatlinburg, where there are several frightfully fun attractions that are in business year 'round. Ripley's Haunted Adventure, located on the Parkway, is guaranteed to scare you witless, while the Mysterious Mansion on River Road is one of the city's oldest and most loved places to catch a good chill.
In Gatlinburg, there are also a couple of businesses that lead ghost walks, or walking tours of town-Gatlinburg Ghost and Haunt Tours and Ghost Walk of Gatlinburg-featuring creepy tales from the past that highlight the horrifying history of noted local landmarks.
In keeping with harvest time, you'll also find several haunted corn mazes in the area, including the Kyker Farms Korn Maze. Kyker Farm After Dark fun includes a haunted maze trail and Zombie Blasterz interactive paintball ride!
For tamer Halloween fun, let the little ones get their fill of ghoulish goodies at the Annual Halloween Spooktacular Event and Safety Day at the Pigeon Forge Community Center. Activites occur both outside and inside the center, with a good time planned for all. Trick or treat!
